About the Role

Essential Duties: Under direction of Employment Services Network Supervisor, performs the following:

  1. Conducts outreach and recruitment activities, including presentations.

  2. Arranges eligibility determination of interested individuals.

  3. Performs orientation and intake for eligible participants.

  4. Conducts and arranges comprehensive assessment of participants; including, but not limited to: CASAS, CareerScope, O*NET, and NJCAN.

  5. Serves as certified proctor for relevant participant assessments.

  6. Identifies, with participant, barriers to employment.

  7. Develops, with participant, an Individual Service Strategy.

  8. Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with county workforce development employees relevant to each participant’s case file and Individual Service Strategy.

  9. Provides career and educational counseling along with case management services.

  10. Refers participant to appropriate academic, vocational, and social services.

  11. Monitors participant progress.

  12. Provides and oversees all aspects of employment services, including, but not limited to: career exploration and development, educational goal-setting, career goal-setting, employment counseling, job seeking skills preparation, job matching, job development and placement, job coaching, and retention services.

  13. Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with partner and other support agencies.

  14. Fosters positive relationships with local employers and acts as an educator and consultant with regard to topics relevant to employment, such as ADA, tax incentives, etc.

  15. Maintains on-going contact with participants, their families and other relevant support persons.

  16. Collaborates with the marketing department in the creation and updating of forms, brochures, marketing materials, etc. for youth programs.

  17. Maintains all records necessary for each participant’s case file

  18. Maintains electronic client files using Apricot and CASAS.

  19. Submits all program reports as required.

  20. Attends conferences, trainings, and meetings relevant to serving the participants.


Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by the Employment Services Network Supervisor.


Miscellaneous: Other information on the general policy of employment, benefits, pay, absence, grievances, etc. that is related to all employees is explained in the staff handbook.

Requirements, Skills, & Qualifications

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field, such as education, rehabilitation, mental health, psychology, social work, personnel management, or marketing. Course work in occupational assessment, job analysis, and counseling preferred. Related previous employment experience as well as knowledge of labor market trends and employment practices preferred. Must be sensitive to the needs of individuals with disabilities and/or those who are disadvantaged. Valid NJ Driver’s License and successful completion of criminal background check required.

Other Information

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with other hours as necessary.

Lunch ½ hour.
